Life comes with Ups and Downs. Experiencing a foreclosure is not the end of the world. It weighs on your thoughts and emotions everyday.
The worry about the future and its impact is crippling. Day and night!
Well, I’ve learned a lot when this hit me. It can be incapacitating. Okay it is incapacitating!
During these moments, it’s about making choices and ignoring the problem only makes matters worse.
Remember 2 things:
- The bank/lender does not want the house, they just want the payments
- The bank doesn’t know what you have not told them!
So you gotta start somewhere:
Call the lender and let them know you’d like to work with them but don’t have the money right now. Plan to give them how you are working towards a solution. Getting a 2nd job, you can go back to work in 3 months and will begin repayment then. Determine your budget, can you repay some of the all or part of the back payments. The more they know the more likely they will work with you.
Try to work a loan modification with the bank. They will ask for a lot of paperwork supporting your situation. write the letter, do everything they ask.
I have found that trying to work with the bank on loan modification doesn’t stop the court paperwork. When that happened to me, I fell apart.
When all else fails, call us. We do buy houses but sometimes can offer other solutions depending on your state.
